The district of Hailakandi is fully geared up for the Higher Secondary examinations conducted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC), which are scheduled to commence on Wednesday, February 11.
A total of 6,875 candidates will be appearing for the 2026 examinations across the district. To facilitate the process, the administration has designated 16 Higher Secondary Schools and Colleges as examination centers.
Authorities have confirmed that stringent security protocols are in place at all 16 venues to ensure a fair and hindrance-free environment. According to district officials, comprehensive arrangements have been made covering every aspect of the examination process, from the safe custody of question papers to the on-site management of examinees.
Center-wise Enrollment Data
In terms of candidate distribution, Srikrishna Sarada College will host the largest cohort this year, with 714 students set to appear. At the other end of the spectrum, the Katlicherra Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Model College will see the lowest turnout, with 233 examinees.
Significant student numbers have also been recorded at Algapur Public HS School (668), Lala HS & Multipurpose School (596), and Katakhal Jankicharan HS School (560).

- Lala Prankrishna Girls’ HS School: 493

- Hailakandi Indrakumari Girls’ HS School: 317

Both the district administration and the Education Department have assured the public that all necessary preparations are complete to ensure the examinations are conducted peacefully and efficiently.
