Foundation Stone Laid for New Building at Katlicherra Police Station

Hailakandi’s Superintendent of Police Amitabh Singh laid the foundation stone for a new police station building in Katlicherra on Thursday, marking another milestone in the state government’s efforts to upgrade law enforcement infrastructure across Assam.

The initiative falls under Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma’s comprehensive program to modernize police stations throughout the state with contemporary facilities and enhanced resources. The upgraded Katlicherra station will feature improved amenities designed to strengthen policing capabilities and community service deliver.

During his address at the ceremony, SP Singh reaffirmed the department’s commitment to public welfare and security. He stressed the critical role of community cooperation in effective policing and urged residents to maintain their support for local law enforcement operations.

The foundation-laying event drew attendance from key community leaders across various sectors. Among those present were Bidyut Pal, Chairman of the Katlicherra Citizens Committee; Amit Das, representing the Gharmura-Bagchora Zila Parishad member; Birenzing Nath, representing the Rangabak Anchalik Panchayat member; and Nirmalkanti Das, President of the Katlicherra Business Association.

The new construction project represents a significant investment in local security infrastructure, promising to deliver a modern workspace equipped to meet the evolving demands of contemporary policing while serving the needs of the Katlicherra community more effectively.
