Vaishnav Preacher Bijonkrishna Goswami to Begin Three-Day Spiritual Tour of Barak Valley

Lineage holder of Achyutananda Goswami to conduct Bhagavata discourses at Shyamsundar Akhra

Renowned Vaishnav spiritual leader Bijonkrishna Goswami is scheduled to arrive in the Barak Valley on Wednesday, February 18, kicking off a three-day itinerary of religious engagements across the region.

The 70-year-old pontiff holds a distinguished position in the country’s spiritual landscape, tracing his lineage to the revered Achyutananda Goswami. He is the grandson of the legendary preacher Bijoy Krishna Goswami and the son of Prabhupad Shri Brajendranath Goswami.

According to the schedule, the Silchar leg of his tour will centre around the Shyamsundar Akhra, where he will lead recitations of the Bhagavata and participate in various religious ceremonies. During his stay in the town, he will be hosted at the residence of Shashi Karmakar on Central Road.

Goswami has travelled extensively across India, including visits to Kolkata, Meghalaya, Tripura, and various parts of Assam, to propagate the teachings of the Vedas, Puranas, and Upanishads. His discourses are known for simplifying these scriptures for the layperson while offering spiritual initiation to devotees.

Beyond the district headquarters in Silchar, the tour includes scheduled visits to Katlicherra and Lala. A grand civic reception has been organised in his honour at the Lala Mini Officers’ Club premises, located on the western side of the Lala Bazaar.

Local organiser Pradip Paul confirmed that all preparations for the visit are complete, noting that the event is in response to the earnest invitations of disciples from across the valley.
