Katlicherra MLA Lays Foundation for Two Key Rural Infrastructure Projects

New drainage system and public ghat funded by the 15th Finance Commission draw widespread appreciation from local residents.

Spearheading local infrastructure upgrades, Katlicherra MLA Sujam Uddin Laskar, alongside Zilla Parishad member Dilwar Hussain Barbhuiya, formally laid the foundation stones for two essential public projects on Sunday. Both initiatives fall under the jurisdiction of the Ramchandi-Nimaichandpur Zilla Parishad.

The projects, sanctioned for the 2024-25 financial year, are entirely backed by the Zilla Parishad development fund allocated under the Fifteenth Finance Commission. The first initiative is designed to resolve chronic waterlogging issues through the construction of a dedicated drainage system at the Sakalapar Aljamia Madrasa. The second project involves building a much-needed public ghat along the banks of the Saraswati Nala in South Jhapirband Part I (Pasdali) village.

The commencement of these development works has been met with strong enthusiasm from the local community. Residents highly praised Zilla Parishad member Barbhuiya for translating his commitments into visible action and keeping his promises to the electorate.

The ceremonial foundation-laying events were well-attended, featuring the presence of various local panchayat representatives and distinguished community figures alongside the MLA.

Addressing the gatherings, Barbhuiya issued an earnest appeal for sustained public cooperation. Reaffirming his dedication to the region’s progress, he emphasized his goal to accelerate developmental momentum within the Zilla Parishad area, pledging to oversee all future civic works with absolute transparency and honesty.
